I am a professional DJ with Sound Extreme Entertainment. The staff and management are awesome! The events that I have been privileged to do at Castle Ladyhawke have NEVER been a disappointment! Perfect ambiance. Any bride cannot make a mistake choosing this venue!

I had my wedding here on August 23. It was beautiful. The grounds are so well kept, and the venue was ready to go. It rained for a hour or two while everyone was getting ready, but its the mountains. Rain is away called for. The staff was so easy to work with. They always helped me with my issues on my many phone calls I made, the day of the wedding, and even the day after the wedding. The pictures we got from our photographer of this venue makes the memory even more wonderful.

Last weekend, I checked out Castle Ladyhawke for my deployed son and his fiancé. I contacted Sabrina to schedule the walk through and when I asked for local hotel information, she recommended the castle property. I assumed it was a resort like environment. Initially, I requested a two night stay but called back a couple of weeks later to change to one night. Sabrina sent me a confirmation email of the change but my cc was charged for two. When we arrived, I was terrifyingly shocked by the steep and treacherous terrain up the mountain and when we arrived, found no one there so decided to check into our room, meaning we had to drive back down. The road signs were confusing so at one point, I had to back up and make a hard right turn. I was terrified and frozen with fear! Once we arrived at the cabins, we were shocked at how tiny they were. Again, there was no one there but an envelope with my name was waiting. The cabin was so tiny that there was barely room to walk around the full bed. Since I had specifically requested two beds, we left our luggage in the car. I refused to drive back up the mountain so my best friend (my son's Godmother) and I walked UP to the castle. Tina met us and gave us a tour of the castle and discussed wedding ideas. When I explained the cabin mistake, Tina offered to put us in a bigger room so I commented that there was no one at check-in and asked where the staff was? Tina explained that the only staff member was out of town this weekend so we would have the whole mountain (180) acres to ourselves! As that realization sunk in, I envisioned the plot of horror films: two women alone on 180 acres, no cell service, no gun, hunting season, bears roaming about and fleeing down treacherous roads in the middle of the night! I immediately explained to Tina that THAT should have been explained to us and it was NOT acceptable! Though Tina explained that it would be perfectly safe, I informed that I was not comfortable so we would not stay. Tina commented, "I hope you can get your money back". I informed that we had BETTER get our money back since they failed to explain all of these things to us. After returning home, I called Sabrina asking for a full refund. She explained that the owner was out of town and that she would give me a call later that day - she didn't. After several more calls, I was informed that the owner REFUSED to refund my money citing the 30 day cancellation policy, adding that the mountain is a perfectly SAFE place for two women. I explained to Sabrina that I completely disagree and that even hotels provide a 24 hour cancellation grace period. Sabrina was apologetic but that it was out of her hands.

DO NOT USE THIS VENUE!

If you are considering this venue, know this:

What a wonderful staff of people. Beautiful castle and the wedding went smoothly. We definitely chose the best possible location for a Celtic Wedding

The drive up the mountain is treacherous and there are NO guardrails; The Cabins are decorated nicely but extremely tiny; This is NOT the venue for a small budget since EVERYTHING Is extra; There is no parking at the castle so you MUST hire their valet's to park cars; You must use one of their same day planners and officiates; You must rent a bus to carry guests from cabins to the castle (especially if your guests have health issues or are elderly); This venue will nickel and dime you to death and the owner does NOT understand the concept of: The customer is always right; The website pictures use angles that make the castle appear bigger than it actually is; and finally, READ THE FINE PRINT!

The people were wonderful, helpful, and ready to lend a hand wherever I needed it! The view and the castle itself make everything look grand and magical. The prices for the packages are great too! I highly recommend this place for your wedding, if you are on the fence I am sure a visit will change your mind.
